Fuel Fitness FE46 Review
Machine: Fuel Fitness FE46 Elliptical
Overview: The Fuel Fitness FE46 offers a level of quality not usually seen in an elliptical trainer priced under $1000. By including a large 21lb front flywheel not only does it have a reasonably smooth ride, the machine doesn’t suffer from any problems with wobbling or rocking. It’s also a fairly quiet machine, which also isn’t common in elliptical machines below $1000. Featuring Fuel’s signature articulating footpads, the FE46 minimizes stress on your feet and joints. While 14 training programs, 15 levels of resistance and a 20” stride are fairly standard for an elliptical in this price range, the Fuel Elliptical FE46 sets itself apart with an incredibly solid design, high weight capacity of 325lbs and an included chest strap heart rate monitor—a feature usually only seen on high end expensive models. Another impressive feature rarely found on an elliptical at this price is the inclusion of heart rate control programs. Thanks to this feature it’s easier than ever to meet your fitness goals by maintaining your target heart rate during every workout. With a backlight LCD window, built-in speakers and an MP3 player port, the FE46 is up to date with standards in included technology.

A remarkably large 21lb front flywheel can take the credit for the Fuel FE46 Elliptical Trainer's smooth motion as well as its sturdy design. Because the pedals angle with the elliptical motion there’s less stress on the feet, ankles and knees. And one of the most important features of the Fuel Fitness FE46 is that it’s got Heart Rate Control programs that make sure you hit your target heart rate every time you work out so you reach your fitness goals efficiently. HRC programs usually only come in much pricier packages.
Although the Fuel Fitness FE46 seems to have a lot of bang for your buck, it’s a relatively new brand meaning there aren’t a lot of customer reviews out there yet. Some customers who prefer cushioned foot pads will want to wear extra comfortable sneakers to accommodate for the lack of padding. While the large flywheel is a strength in terms of a fluid ride, the trade off is wide set pedals, which may not be comfortable, especially for short users.
The Fuel FE46 Ellipitcal review: while very few elliptical trainers around this price can boast such a solid design without sacrificing a significant amount of features. While the Fuel Fitness FE46 is a durable machine for the cost, it’s not really meant for extreme use. But for users with a budget under $1000 who want to get into shape it’s a great buy.
