Horizon ex-57 Elliptical Review
Machine: Horizon e ex-57 Elliptical Trainer
Overview: The Horizon ex 57 Elliptical Trainer may have a lot price tag, but that doesn’t mean it’s cheap. Horizon has a reputation for focusing on quality over pizzazz and the Horizon Fitness ex57 elliptical is proof. While it may be short on superfluous features like a built-in fan or built-in speakers, it makes up for it by focusing on an ergonomic design. The Horizon Fitness ex 57 elliptical boasts pivoting foot plates—a feature rarely seen in such an affordable elliptical trainer—that reduce stress on your ankles by allowing your foot to move normally with the elliptical motion. It also features 9 workout modes and 8 levels of resistance as well as an 18” stride to provide a suitable cardio workout. The Horizon Fitness EX-57 has a weight capacity of 275lbs, which means it’s not the sturdiest elliptical on the market, but it works just fine for moderate use by the average user.

An 18” stride length lands above expectations on an elliptical in this price range. Coupled with closely spaced foot pedals, the Horizon EX-57 stands as a very comfortable machine, especially for shorter users. Thanks to a 14lb flywheel this Horizon elliptical also runs much smoother and quieter than most budget elliptical trainers. It also boasts a low step on height which is not only a safety feature because it’s easy to step on, but it’s also a good feature for homes with low ceiling clearance.
As an economy elliptical trainer the Horizon ex-57 has its limitations in terms of quality. It also doesn’t include any additional features like a fan or speakers.
The Horizon Fitness ex 57 Elliptical is that it’s a sturdy machine for the price, but it doesn’t have a lot of features. Though it lacks speakers or a built-in fan, the fact that it has an 18” stride, a somewhat heavy flywheel and pivoting foot pedals make it stand out among similarly priced elliptical trainers.
