As is the case with most Horizon elliptical trainers, the Horizon Fitness ex-77 Elliptical is designed with a low, 10 inch step on height that gives you plenty of room overhead so low ceilings aren’t a problem. The ex 77 features one of the smoothest and quietist rides an elliptical at this price has to offer due to its magnetic brake and fairly large 14lb flywheel. Thanks to the pivoting foot plates your ankles and knees don’t experience the kind of stress you get with the fixed pedals of cheaper machines. The built-in speakers and iPod input are just the icing on the cake that make this Horizon Fitness ex77 elliptical a really appealing purchase.
The 14lb flywheel, while not bad for an elliptical of this price, doesn’t compare to the Horizon ex-68 Elliptical’s 17.6 lb flywheel. The display isn’t top of the line and the information it shows is somewhat limited.
The Horizon ex 77 Elliptical Trainer finds a great balance between sturdy design and comfort while still delivering standard features in terms of stride, resistance and workout programs.
