LifeCore CD400 Review
Machine: LifeCore CD400 Elliptical
Overview: LifeCore CD400 Elliptical, as a center drive machine, offers a comfortable and safe workout that until recently hadn’t been common in an at-home elliptical. The closer foot pedals feel more natural while the square footprint adds stability to the design. In fact the CD400 epitomizes stability with a weight capacity of 300lbs and top quality construction. Without an understanding of elliptical trainer design it would be easy to overlook the fact that all the pivotal joints have sealed ball bearings, which gives this machine its durability and smooth feel. What the LifeCore CD400 Elliptical Trainer lacks a lot of neat accessories like speakers, it makes up for in superior construction and essential features. The LifeCore Elliptical CD400’s highlights include a long 21” stride length, 20 levels of magnetic resistance and a 5 year parts warranty. Many people prefer center drive elliptical trainers because of the close pedal spacing which feels natural and reduces joint stress. Thanks to LifeCore emphasis on quality design, the CD400 will continue to provide a smooth workout even after years of active use. LifeCore puts their money where their mouth is when it comes to quality design, offering an extraordinary 5 year parts warranty. Although it’s an incredibly stable machine, it’s extremely compact, measuring 41” long and 31” wide. Depending on your perspective, the long 21” stride length may be a plus, especially for tall users.
As is the case with LifeCore elliptical machines in general, the CD400 doesn’t include a lot of the bells and whistles offered by other brands like speakers, or fancy displays because the brand focuses more on quality construction. Also, users under 5’4” may find the 21” stride length uncomfortably long. The other downside is that one stride length doesn’t allow you to work different muscle groups.
The LifeCore CD400 Elliptical Trainer Review: You’d be hard pressed to find a better quality elliptical trainer in this price range. It’s similar to the CD600 model, but with a few small differences that cause the CD400 to cost a few hundred dollars less. Although the LifeCore CD400 doesn’t offer a lot of accessories or gadgets, it’s an incredibly high quality elliptical trainer that can take a lot of abuse. Just make sure that you’re familiar with a 21” stride length because it may not be for you.
