Strengths:
The adjustable stride length on the ProForm 1050E offers a longer maximum stride length than other Proform models. This helps to find a more individualized fit and to mix up your workouts. The "Super Ramp" system is effective in targeting certain areas of your lower body. The 20 resistance levels are the most you'll find on a Proform elliptical trainer and are great for catering to many different experience levels.
Weaknesses:
With just a little improvement over the Proform 590E or 790E, the 1050E elliptical trainer doesn't warrant such a large jump in price. The longer stride resistance isn't really worth $200. For this price you might expect cooler in-console features, but they're not much better than what you'd find in less expensive models.
The Skinny:
If you're tall or need to cater to someone in your household that is, the Proform 1050E elliptical machine is a great choice. The extra long stride length, along with a high max weight capacity makes this a great choice for larger individuals. Along the same lines, this wide range of resistance levels is ideal for beginners and experienced users sharing the same machine. All of the sound technology and features makes for an enjoyable workout, but offers nothing too spectacular. While the ProForm 1050E elliptical trainer is among the best models in its price range, it could benefit from a price drop.
