The ProForm 590 E elliptical machine boasts oversized foot pedals with foam cushioning, allowing for a more comfortable workout. The angle of the foot pedals are actually adjustable to fit the way you walk, which reduces numb toes and sore Achilles tendons - a regular occurrence on some machines. The iFit workout card technology (developed by ProForm) is excellent, as it's like your very own personal trainer. These programs provide results you might not be able to achieve all on your own. As expected, the workout fan and sound system make for an entertaining experience.
Overall, this is not the most stable elliptical out there. It is adequate if you plan to use it for moderate exercising and you are not excessively overweight. While ProForm states that it will hold up to 300lbs, 200lbs seems like a safer bet. The 18" stride length can feel too oval to users who are accustomed to 20" lengths. There are few distinguishing features that really make the ProForm 590 E standout among the sea of elliptical machines. While the iFit technology is great, the cards do not come standard and must be sold separately.
The ProForm 590 E elliptical machine is a pretty standard offering from the popular fitness machine manufacturer. With an equal amount of strengths and weaknesses, nothing really makes it a must have, top-notch machine. It's an average elliptical for an average price- making it a winner in its price range. If you find it at the right price, it's definitely worth picking up. If you're willing to spend just a bit more, there are definitely more 'souped up' fitness elliptical trainers out there. At the same time, the jury is completely out on this 2010 model, more customer reviews will definitely prove useful in painting a better picture of its value.
